NormaTec® Treatment at Collin County Cryo
Just sit back in one of our comfortable recliners and relax while NormaTec®’s patented compression massage improves your circulation and assists in your recovery. A typical treatment lasts between fifteen and thirty minutes but can be extended if necessary. The NormaTec® Pulse system consists of a control module and attachments designed to go over the legs, arms or hips. It utilizes a patented pulse massage pattern of compression to mimic the body’s normal physiology. The compressed air massage pattern will increase circulation and speed up recovery in your arms, legs or hips. The user experience is painless and non-invasive. Once the treatment begins, the attachment (arms, legs or hips) will inflate and mold around your body’s shape. Then the NormaTec® system will begin to compress and release in each segment of the attachment while working its way up your limb.
NormaTec® was originally developed and clinically proven as a non-invasive treatment for circulatory disorders, vascular disease and post-operative care. Several years later, the world’s top athletes discovered the benefits of compression therapy. Today, athletes from all over the world use NormaTec® to aid in recovery and improve performance. In fact, the world’s elite cyclists, runners, Olympic athletes, triathletes, Baseball, basketball, football, hockey and soccer players regularly use the system for recovery.
NormaTec® utilizes three distinct mechanisms to improve circulation and assist in recovery. The patented sequential pulse technology uses a massage pattern that consists of pulsing compression, gradients and distal release. Pulsing compression simulates the body’s normal muscle pump and enhances the fluid movement out of the limbs. Gradients prevent backflow of the fluid by holding the pressure so the fluid does not flow back down to your toes or fingertips. This allows for maximum pressure and effectiveness at the top of the limb. Digital release technology releases the hold pressure in each zone so the limb is assured maximum rest time between cycle compressions.
